Wedding Photography and Videography

Wedding photography and videography are a really important way to help you remember your wedding day forever. There will be many moments at your wedding, when you’re too busy or distracted to be able to take in what’s happening with everyone else. Having a photographer and videographer ensure that you catch all of the details you’ve planned so well on film.

With destination weddings, it’s normal to have a local wedding co-ordinator or planner. If you’ve booked your wedding as part of a package or through a travel company, then it’s very likely that a photographer will be included. A videographer is usually an optional extra that you can pay for if you require one.

Wedding Photography

If you’re able to meet your photographer before your wedding day, then that would be ideal. But if not, then it’s a good idea to provide your wedding planner or co-ordinator by email with a list of must-have wedding photography shots, so that they know what you have planned.
Some possible suggestions can be found below. Think long and hard about the posed shots that you want and make sure that you don’t forget anyone!
In this digital age, your guests will undoubtedly take a huge amount of photos at your wedding. You can politely request that your guests upload their shots onto Facebook or if you’re not a social networker, then sign up for a free Truprint account and share folders between you. You can easily and cheaply order amazing quality photo books, canvases and many other types of memorabilia!

Wedding Videography
As much as wedding photos are an integral part of the day, nothing beats a wedding video. Although often quite pricey, it’s an expense that really is worth paying. A few months or years after the event, you’ll be so pleased that you’re still able to capture your wedding and can listen to your wedding vows, speeches and other sentimental moments that a normal picture doesn’t allow for. As with most suppliers, discuss the hiring of a videographer fully with your wedding co-ordinator or planner. Ensure that the following points are discussed before agreeing to purchase a videography package.

  • How many hours will the videographer be there for?
  • What exactly would you like captured on film? – Just the ceremony, or the whole of the reception including dancing? The longer you hire someone for, the more expensive it will be.
  • Will you be able to supply music to be edited into the video?
  • How long will the edited footage be?
  • Will you also receive the unedited footage so that you could re-edit the video at a later date?
  • How many copies will you receive and will they be on DVD? You may also need to find out what region dvd they’ll be on depending no where you’re getting married.
